To ensure Detroit’s children are set up to succeed, we must understand how each piece of the puzzle fits together and then create solutions that take that knowledge into account. When all the pieces of the system work together, we get the best end result: a healthy, thriving child; those factors and the way they connect make up Detroit’s Early Childhood System.

Hope Starts Here was born out of the belief that Detroit won’t reach its full potential until our kids reach theirs – all of them. Since its inception in 2016, Hope Starts Here, Detroit’s Early Childhood Partnership, has engaged families, businesses, child education and health experts, and the larger community in creating a vision to ensure that children are born healthy, prepared for kindergarten, and on track for success by third grade and beyond. Hope Starts Here aims to, at last, make Detroit a city that puts children first.
